money and learn more about the great game of Baseball. The Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association is

looking for new umpires for the upcoming season. Training will take place in Nanaimo

COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS

Please feel free to contact the Umpire in Chief at any time with any comments or suggestions you may have. We are striving to make this season a positive experience and as fun as possible for all the participants whether they are umpires, coaches, players or spectators.

 

Umpires are to arrive at the field no later than 20 minutes before game time.


UMPIRES DRESS CODE


SHIRTS Light blue or dark blue shirt, long or short sleeve, full button front with a collar or polo style with a collar, NO PRINTING, PICTURES OR LOGOS ALLOWED OTHER THAN A UMPIRE ASSOCIATION PATCH.


PANTS Dark blue, black or grey, full length pants, with or without a belt,  nylon track pants acceptable if they meet all the other standards, NO JEANS, NO SHORTS, NO SWEAT PANTS, NO LOGOS.


COLD WEATHER  Jackets in black or dark blue acceptable, sweatshirts in black, dark blue or grey acceptable, hoodies acceptable but hood must be down, NO PRINTING, NO LOGOS ALLOWED, NO PIRATES HOODIES.


FOOTWEAR  Runner, cleats or leather umpire shoes acceptable, NO SANDALS, CROCS, OR OPEN TYPE FOOTWEAR PERMITTED.


RECOMMENDED GEAR  Baseball cap, sunglasses, clicker for base and plate umps and brush for plate ump.


BANNED THIS YEAR  No electronic devices allowed on the field  during play.  You are expected to give your full attention to the game.
